Publication Terms and Rules

Publication terms are determined by the journal’s financial policy and approved by the Founding Institution.

  • Submitted articles must correspond to the scope of the journal (topics outlined in the journal’s sections)
  • Articles are accepted based on the results of completed and previously unpublished fundamental or applied research, as well as review articles, problem-oriented papers, original experimental studies, and methodological works;
  • All submissions must comply with the journal’s formatting requirements;
  • All articles undergo mandatory peer review. The editorial office provides authors with the reviewers’ comments. The final decision to accept an article for publication is made by the editorial board. Returning a manuscript for revision does not imply acceptance for publication. The submission date is considered the date the editorial office receives the final version of the manuscript;
  • In case of rejection, the editorial office provides authors with a reasoned explanation;
  • Correspondence with authors is conducted through the contact person indicated in the manuscript;
  • Publication is free for all categories of authors;
  • Each article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier);
  • Authors do not receive royalties for published materials.

Article Peer Review Procedure

  1. All registered manuscripts submitted to the editorial office of the Scientific Agronomic Journal undergo an initial evaluation within 10 business days to ensure that the manuscript meets content and structural requirements;
  2. All scientific articles (original, review, discussion, or problem-focused) are subject to mandatory double-blind peer review: reviewers do not know the authors’ identities, and authors do not know the reviewers. Authors receive reviewers’ comments via the journal editor;
  3. The review process is conducted by members of the editorial board and editorial council, as well as invited reviewers — leading experts from Russia and other countries;
  4. The review period is typically 2–3 weeks;
  5. If the review contains recommendations for revisions, the editorial office sends the author the reviewers’ comments with instructions to either incorporate the changes or provide a reasoned rebuttal (partially or fully). The revision process should not exceed two weeks. The revised manuscript is then resubmitted for another round of review.
  6. The decision to reject a manuscript is made at a meeting of the editorial board based on the reviewers’ recommendations. Rejected manuscripts will not be reconsidered. Notification of rejection is sent to the author via email;
  7. Once the editorial board approves the manuscript for publication, the author is notified and provided with an expected publication timeline;
  8. A positive review alone is not sufficient grounds for publication. The final decision is made by the editorial board. In case of disputes, the Editor-in-Chief has the final authority;
  9. Original copies of all reviews are retained by the editorial office for five years.

The review report is confidential;
  2. Manuscripts must be treated as confidential and must not be shared with third parties without permission from the editorial office. Unpublished data may not be used for personal purposes.
  3. Reviewers must provide an objective evaluation of research results; personal criticism of authors is not acceptable.
  4. Reviewers must decline to review a manuscript if there is a conflict of interest with the authors, insufficient expertise to assess the results, or inability to complete the review in a timely manner.

Author Responsibilities

  2. Authors must submit entirely original work; when using materials from other sources, proper citation is required. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
